HOW TO BOOST LEMONGRASS YIELD

We proposed the application of limestone to induce higher production of essential oil e.g linolenic oil in lemongrass.

Lemongrass is categorized as citrus plant species, similar to other citrus plants e.g orange, lime or lemon. The citrus plants consume large amount of magnesium compared to other plants. Magnesium is the crucial component that induces secretion of lipid substance and essential oil in citrus plants. It also functions as the bioactive substance in plant enzymes.

An easy and economic solution to providing Mg to the plant is through application of limestone. Limestone contains 20%-30% of Mg. It is best known for its pH balancing ability and soil treatment effect. There are also some alternative that can be discussed.
Application should start right at the beginning, during soil treatment stage. It depends on the soil condition, we have to determine the CEC, potassium and calcium content in soil.

We also can provide natural limestone called dolomite which is high in magnesium and calcium content. Dolomite is one of the best solution for your farming practice. It restructure the soil condition, balance the pH, increase nutrient uptake and most economic solution to large application of Mg. We can provide dolomite at a good price compared to the market and negotiable. Our dolomite is the best dolomite in Asia and its also used as paint pigment and in glass and steel industry in refractionary process. COA will be provided if you are interested.

To boost secretion of oil in lemongrass, we increase Mg efficiency by injecting stimulant into our fertilizer. Mg uptake can be improved about 20-30% using the bio-energy wave technology. Other option to boost dolomite functions is by blending in zeolite or EM. There are various options. This could be discussed in the future.

ANGGARAN PENGGUNAAN BAJA UNTUK SEEKAR TANAMAN SERAI

(Pelan Organik Bokashi Farmer)

1 ekar = 43 560 kaki persegi,

jarak perdu = 3.5 kaki @ 12.25 kaki persegi. Maka

1 ekar = 43 560/12.25 = 3,556 perdu serai (maksimum)

A. BAJA KOMPOS

1 perdu serai memerlukan 300gram kompos ( anggaran 1 tin susu pekat)

3,556 perdu x 0.3gm = 1,066.8kg / ekar

B. BAJA FOLIAR / SEMBURAN

Kapasiti 1 tong penyiram = 13 liter

25ml baja foliar untuk setiap 1 liter air

Maka, 1 tong penyiram = 13 x 25ml = 325 ml foliar / tong

1 tong penyiram = 25 perdu serai

3,556/25 = 142.24 tong penyiram / ekar

142.24 tong/ ekar x 325ml baja foliar/tong

= 46 228 ml @ 46.2 liter/ekar

C. PENGGUNAAN SEMUSIM (ANGGARAN 6 BULAN):

KOMPOS – 1 TIN SUSU PEKAT/PERDU (300GRAM)

- JARAK ANTARA DUA PERDU = 3.5 KAKI PERSEGI

- 4 PERDU SERAI/ LUBANG (LUBANG BAJA DI PUSAT 4 PERDU SERAI)

- SEKALI PEMBAJAAN SEMUSIM

FOLIAR - - 2 MINGGU @ SEBULAN SEKALI SEMBURAN

-MINIMUM 2 BULAN SEKALI SEMBURAN

Lubang baja untuk kompos adalah di pusat kubik antara 4 perdu serai (penjuru kubik).

Ia menyebabkan akar dan anak serai tumbuh ke dalam kubik, ke arah baja. Jimat kos dan penggunaan baja lebih optimum.
